Useful addresses in Luxembourg: where to send your reimbursement requests (CNS, CMFEP, CMFEC)
CNS, CMFEP or CMFEC: which postal address do you send your health-cost reimbursement claim to in Luxembourg? The clear, verified guide from taxx.lu here.
You have paid health costs upfront and you are waiting to be reimbursed. That leaves one simple question: which fund, and which address, do you send your claim to? The answer depends on your status.
Four health insurance funds cover everyone insured in Luxembourg:
- the CNS, for private-sector employees, the self-employed and most residents;
- the CMFEP, for civil servants and employees of the State;
- the CMFEC, for municipal civil servants and employees;
- the EM-CFL, for staff of the Luxembourg railways (CFL).
If in doubt, your payslip shows which fund you belong to.
This page brings together the official addresses, verified with each fund. Keep one distinction in mind: the postal address is for sending your documents by mail, while the counters are for visiting in person.
CNS: Caisse nationale de santé
For whom: private-sector employees, the self-employed, State manual workers and most residents.
Postal address (for your mail): Caisse nationale de santé, L-2980 Luxembourg.
Counters (in person): 4, rue Mercier, L-2144 Luxembourg. The CNS also has regional offices across the country.
Enclose the originals of your paid invoices or fee statements. Every document must show the 13-digit ID number (matricule) of the person treated. For a first claim, add your bank details. You can also get an immediate refund by booking an appointment at an office, and view the breakdown of your reimbursements online via MyGuichet.lu.
CMFEP: Caisse de maladie des fonctionnaires et employés publics
For whom: civil servants and employees of the State.
Postal address (for your mail): Caisse de maladie des fonctionnaires et employés publics, L-2091 Luxembourg.
Counters (in person): 47, boulevard Prince Henri, L-1724 Luxembourg. Open from 8:30 to 11:30 and from 14:00 to 16:00.
Old address, no longer in use
The CMFEP has moved. The address 32, avenue Marie-Thérèse is no longer valid. For your mail, use the postal address L-2091 Luxembourg. To visit in person, go to 47, boulevard Prince Henri.
CMFEC: Caisse de maladie des fonctionnaires et employés communaux
For whom: municipal civil servants and employees.
Address (mail and counters): Caisse de maladie des fonctionnaires et employés communaux, Service Remboursements, 20, avenue Emile Reuter, L-2420 Luxembourg.
EM-CFL: Entraide médicale des CFL
For whom: staff of the Luxembourg railways (CFL).

Before you send your file
Check these points before sending
- Every invoice or fee statement must show the 13-digit ID number (matricule) of the person treated, exact and legible.
- Keep a copy of your documents before sending the originals, especially if you have supplementary insurance.
- Administrative addresses can change. If in doubt, check your fund's official website before sending.
No stamp needed
For mail posted from within Luxembourg, the CNS and the CMFEP cover the postage: no stamp needed. If you post from abroad, for example as a cross-border worker, stamp your letter as usual.
